Day 1: Marrakech to the Dades Gorges via the High Atlas, Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Skoura

Take a remarkable journey from Marrakech, winding through the High Atlas Mountains. The scenic route takes you to UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, a historic kasbah showcasing the splendor of Moroccan architecture. Continue through Ouarzazate exploring the Atlas film studios and the Taourirt kasbah. Cross Skoura, with its lush palm groves, and reach the beautiful Dadès Valley. The day ends amid the spectacular landscapes of the Dades Gorges, where the rugged canyon walls echo the stories of centuries. Night with dinner in a hotel.

Day 2: Dades Gorges to Merzouga via Tinghir, Todra Gorges, Tinjdad, Erfoud

Let’s continue our adventure through Tinghir, a town nestled in an oasis and famous for its traditional architecture. Explore the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where sheer canyon walls rise dramatically. Crossing Tinjdad and Erfoud to finally arrive in Merzouga. In the afternoon, camel ride in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, savoring the changing colors of the desert at sunset. Spend a night in a traditional desert camp, immersed in Berber hospitality and culture.

Day 3: Exploration of the Merzouga desert

Delve deeper into the Sahara with a day of exploration. Meet nomadic communities and learn about their ancient way of life. Immerse yourself in the haunting sounds of Khamlia Gnoua music, a distinctive fusion of Berber and African influences. Enjoy a traditional Berber lunch and, in the afternoon, enjoy a camel trek in the desert. Spend another enchanting night in the heart of the dunes, surrounded by the tranquility of the Sahara.

Day 4: Merzouga to Fez via Rissani, Erfoud, Midelt, Azrou, Ifrane

Say goodbye to the desert and travel through Rissani, a town with a vibrant market and historical significance. Continue through Erfoud, Midelt and Azrou, where cedar forests are home to Barbary macaques. Arrive in Ifrane, often nicknamed “Little Switzerland”, and finally reach the imperial city of Fez, a center of history, culture and architectural wonders. Night in a beautiful Riad with dinner.

Day 5: Guided tour of Fes

Enjoy a guided exploration of Fes, a city that bears witness to Morocco’s rich heritage. Wander the labyrinthine streets of the UNESCO-listed medina, visiting historic sites like the Bou Inania Madrasa and the tanneries. Discover the bustling souks and spiritual heart of the city at the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque. Let the ancient walls of Fez tell their stories of centuries past.

Day 6: Fes to Chefchaouen via Meknes and Volubilis

Departure from Fez for Meknes, discovery of the historical monuments of this imperial city, including the famous Bab Mansour gate and the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Travel to the nearby archaeological site of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring Roman ruins. Continue to the charming blue town of Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains, where every corner reveals a new shade of tranquility. Dinner and night in a Riad.

Day 7: Chefchaouen to Asilah via Tetouan and Tangier

Discover the charm of Chefchaouen with its blue buildings and serene atmosphere. Travel to Tetouan, a city known for its Andalusian influence, and explore its medina. Continue to Tangier, a bustling port city with a rich history. End the day in Asilah, a coastal town famous for its artistic flair and tranquil seaside vibe.

Day 8: Asilah to Marrakech via Rabat and Casablanca

This is the final leg of your journey, starting in Asilah and heading to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Explore historic sites including the royal mausoleum and the Oudayas kasbah. Continue to Casablanca, where the emblematic Hassan II mosque awaits you. End your 8-day adventure with a return to Marrakech, reflecting on the diverse landscapes, rich cultural encounters and kaleidoscope of experiences that defined your journey from Marrakech to Chefchaouen.
